On The Passing of Greg “Hirsty” Hirst

June 10, 2017 By IanFJ 3 Comments

[img] Greg "Hirsty" HirstIt is with a heavy heart and deep sorrow that we announce the Greg passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, 7 June, following complications from surgery. He was surrounded by his wife and children at the time.

He was very much beloved by all who knew him —his legacy will live on forever. We are going to miss him greatly.

Please join Colleen, her family, Brotherhood CMC, and the whole Street Level Community, as we mourn the loss of a great man, Gregory John “Hirsty” Hirst. We want celebrate together a life well lived, as much as the achievements and legacy that Greg has left behind. A mass ride will be followed by a service and wake. Refreshments will be served after the service. We hope you can join us.

Funeral Service

Monday, 19th of June
Arrive at 11am for a 11:30 start (We are expecting a big turnout so factor this in)
Penrith Panthers Marquee (not the main building)
Access via Retreat Drive, Penrith

Funeral Processional Ride

Arrive at 9:30am for a 10am ride
Andrew Campbell Reserve
William Lawson Dr, Eastern Creek

Brotherhood CMC are hosting a ride to escort the hearse and family to the venue. All riders welcome. Please note we will be travelling along the centre lane of the M4 at 80km/h in a staggered formation. Respect all other traffic and allow vehicles to merge across the centre lane when necessary. Take the Mulgoa Road exit and turn left into Retreat Drive. Please obey all road rules.

Colleen’s home is now filled with flowers and chocolates, which she has received with much gratitude. So, rather than bringing her a gift, please consider donating through the Street Level Supporters link here: http://streetlevelchristiancommunity.org.au/supporters/ and until the end of July we will direct those donations to causes and charities close to Greg’s heart.

Hirsty’s books will also be available at the wake for a suggested donation of $20 each.

He did so much to spread the gospel, now he goes to eternity with our Lord. A sad time for those of us who will miss him, even if we only knew him through the show.

Temporary Australians

The Temporary Australians television series looks behind the negative public image to the people themselves, doing the stuff they love and explaining it all on camera.

Temporary Australians goes where many have never been: the motorcycle shows, rides, races and rallies. It talks to riders and finds out what makes them tick and shows the fun they have, how they involve their families and how they contribute positively to the wider Australian society.

Why don't you join them?

Listen to Jonesy in The Morning

You can hear Jonesy on the radio Monday to Friday, from 5:30-9:00am, on WSFM 101.7 and online.
Start your workday with Jonesy & Amanda, Sydney's energetic, information-packed breakfast show.

Hirsty & Robbo

It's worth noting that Hirsty & Jonesy are ably recorded by their trusty camerman, Robbo (Tim). [Find out more]
